 Natella Vaidman,
Publisher |
A bit of
History
Club freeTime was started in 1987, born from the enthusiasm of
a new
New Yorker for her adopted city. Publisher Natella
Vaidman, who
came to New York from Moscow, was amazed at the incredible
variety and
quality of the City's free(!) entertainment and education
offerings, and
wanted to share her findings with others. Over the years, Club
freeTime
has expanded from a six-page newsletter called "Free Time"
to a
full-sized magazine and social club. www.clubfreetime.com went online in March of 2001. Our website attracts people who have a zest for life and for New York culture. We all know that "best things in life are free," one can definitely apply it to New York's cultural life.
In the
Press
Club freeTime has been the subject of a column in the New
York
Times (Metro Matters, 12/21/96, still under the name of "Free
Time")
and a segment on "Good Morning New York" (FOX 5), and has
been
described in numerous guidebooks to NYC like "Let's Go New
York",
"The Newcomer's Handbook to NYC", and "New York's Best
Kept
Secrets". In addition, Ms. Vaidman has appeared on numerous
radio
programs, including Jay Diamond on WABC, as well as
programs on
WOR, WNEW, WBLI, and others.
