Soul Paint is an award-winning, immersive world that blends art and science to inspire personal introspection and universal connection. Backed by creative support from behavioral scientists and health care researchers, VR programmers Sarah Ticho and Niki Smit's Soul Paint combines 3-D drawing, playful avatar interaction, video game inputs, and explorations of shared interior worlds, all underscored by narration from NAACP Image Award-winning actor Rosario Dawson. You'll be given the digital tools to create an expressive virtual reality artwork about your own emotions and embodied sensations--depicting what your inner life looks like. Then you are invited to observe the creations of others. This one-of-a-kind VR expedition offers new methods of embodied insight, encouraging us to reflect on the scope of human experience on an individual and global level. Opening Reception | Exploring Monumental Lines and Negative Space
This presentation features two new sculptures by Michael Heizer, alongside a small group of early drawings. The large-scale steel works extend Heizer’s decades-long investigation of line as sculptural form and negative space as an active force. Installed in a raised concrete floor, the winding forms extend more than 80 feet and create a unified environment designed for physical and experiential viewing. Rooted in ideas Heizer began exploring in the 1960s, the works reflect his interest in precision monumentality and the act of drawing at an architectural scale.

Workshop | Origami Group Meet-Up
This event is for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami--an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws.This group meets to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting is free and open to all level of folders from beginner to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You may choose to bring your own paper and books and just show up and fold! If you have models you would like to learn, or teach, let the organizers know, and they will try our best to accommodate.
