This annual international symposium is dedicated to the critical review of the interior. The groundbreaking program addresses the challenges and opportunities of contemporary interior design in the 21st century, and integrates history, theory, design, material experimentation and sustainable practice.
This event will explore the ideas, skills and areas of specialist knowledge that are “moving in” to expand interior design practice, and the challenges of creating more sustainable interiors. Presentations will include case studies of interior spaces conceived by a broad range of actors that include interior designers, architects, exhibition designers, artists, engineers, furniture manufacturers, fabricators and clients. Claudy Jongstra, a Dutch designer who creates innovative wool textiles for interiors, most recently in an installation at Lincoln Center, will be the keynote speaker.
