Pennebaker was tapped by RCA Records to document David Bowie’s final concert of the Ziggy Stardust tour at the Hammersmith Odeon after having established himself as one of the pioneers of the concert film, with works like Don’t Look Back (Bob Dylan) and Monterey Pop.
