Theoretical and critical papers on a broad range of topics showcase the academic work of students in the college's Media Studies program and other graduate programs. Past conferences have featured papers on globalization, televisuality, notions of cyberspace, media and social change, pop culture, political economy of media, philosophy, and film and visual culture. Since 2000, the Critical Themes Conference has grown into a leading forum for the presentation of research in media studies by graduate students worldwide.
