Join musician Paul Rubenstein for an afternoon of eclectic sounds. Rubenstein plays microtonal music (music that uses notes outside of standard tuning) in a unique style incorporating ideas from around the world.
His current performances are largely improvised, and draw heavily from Persian, Arab and Indian styles, as well as progressive rock, metal, avant jazz, and many other influences, which may or may not bubble to the surface in any given performance. He will be playing an electric, stringed instrument he built, which may be bowed or plucked, has movable frets, and contains percussive elements. This is a rare opportunity to watch an innovative and original musician in a uniquely creative process.
