A native of Korea, Jungeun Hong began her piano studies at the age of five. She attended the Pusan Arts High School, Korea majoring piano performance and earned Bachelors degree of Music from the Pusan National University, Korea where she appeared at the Special Presentation Annual Concert as a scholarship student. 2002 Piano Summer at New Paltz, NY hosted by Vladimir Feltsman inspired her to come to New York for her further studies in Music, when she was a senior at the Pusan National University.
Hong has performed in master classes presented by Oxana Yablonskaya, Karl-Heinz Kämmering, Arie Vardi, Vladimir Feltsman, Daniel Pollack, Frederic Chiu, Solomon Mikowsky, Alexander Braginsky, T.I. Ignojan, and Yuri Kim. Her Chamber coaches were Daniel Epstein at the Manhattan School of Music, Sarah Watkins at the SUNY Purchase. Her other mentor are Deirdre O'Donohue, Gumi Ogano, Igor Lebidev, Jungsoon Choi, and Moonjung Jung.
