With Mel Haber.
After the death of Larry Hart in 1943, Richard Rodgers needed to find another lyricist. In Oscar Hammerstein, he found a wonderful partner with whom he continued his successful career for many years. Together, they wrote music for quite a few successful Broadway musicals: Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music.
Songs from these and other musicals, including, "People Will Say We're in Love," "Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "It Might As Well Be Spring," "If I Loved You," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Shall We Dance," and "The Sound of Music," will be played. Among the singers the attendees hear will be John Raitt, Shirley Jones, Dick Haymes, Julie Andrews, Ezio Pinza, and Mary Martin.
