Concert | Rock Sounds: Temples / Here We Go Magic / Spires

Temples - Destined to become Britain’s premier retro-futurists, the music of this psychedelic rock band is a mix of scuzzy glam stomp, dreamy, 12-string-drenched folk-rock, droning ‘60s psychedelia, Krautrock, and more – all viewed through a very modern kaleidoscope. Here We Go Magic - Singer/songwriter Luke Temple, bassist Jennifer Turner, guitarist Michael Bloch and drummer Peter Hale bonded early on over a shared belief in musical spontaneity and a kind of improvisation that feels too divinely ordered to be called “jamming.” Spires - Brooklyn-based Spires are a jangly psychedelic rock band led by singer/guitarist Matt Stevenson. Drawing influences from Creation Records artists and 60s psych, Spires has been dubbed by NME as the "U.S. counterparts" to Temples.
