Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Instructor Yuka Imata earned her B.F.A. at Massachusetts College of Art and Design followed by Art Students League of New York winning the Xavier Gonzales and Ethel Edwards Grant to study in Spain. She has received awards from the Salmagundi and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Clubs and was featured in American Artist and Plein Air Magazines.

Jazz | César López, considered one of the most important sax players in the Latin Jazz


César López started studying music when he was 10. Only three years later, he won the 1st Prize in the Cuban National Sax Contest. In 1985 he got a scholarship at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (National Arts School) and, simultaneously, started his professional career with renowned Cuban musician Bobby Carcasés, who introduced César to Latin Jazz. In 1988, due to his outstanding conditions as a musician, 19 years old he was chosen by Maestro Chucho Valdés to play the sax for the famous Cuban band Irakere. During 9 years César developed a fruitful international career with this Grammy awarded band, performing at the most prestigious festivals, theaters and clubs, which gave him the possibility of sharing the stage with Jazz stars like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Winston Marsalis, Michel Camilo, Paquito D’ Rivera, Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval and others.

Dance Performance | The 36th Annual Battery Dance Festival


Established by Battery Dance in 1982 as the Downtown Dance Festival, today the Battery Dance Festival is New York City’s longest-running free public dance festival. Audiences are traditionally drawn from the large downtown working population and residents, families, tourists, senior citizens and dance fans from the greater NYC metropolitan area.
