Concert | Nowhere: Pianist Performs 12 Hours a Day for 14 Consecutive Days

For fourteen consecutive days, twelve hours a day, pianist Marino Formenti will perform at the venue -- where he will also live in a space that is mercilessly both public and private. We invite you to come and go freely, to listen to music in a different dimension, with Formenti playing the piano daily, from morning to night. With round-the-clock live streaming, you can also experience and share his days at a distance. Nowhere is a non-place in the middle of the city. Marino Formenti performs, eats, sleeps, and lives all in the same space -- a metaphorical, silent, musical 'glass house' that is also surrounded and on view by the daily life of the city. In a performance about music, time, and togetherness, Formenti questions any and all divisions between performance and life. Days become music. Come and stay, leave and come back, listen or ignore the pianist, sleep, read, write, draw, lie down -- to experience music, time, and togetherness in another way. August 14-28, 2019

Concert | Bob Marley & The Wailers's Classic Hits

Though the Wailers were first formed as a ska vocal group in 1963, they’re best known as the backing band of reggae legend Bob Marley. And it was that iteration that Julian Junior Marvin was asked to join in 1974 after the departure of founding members Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. His first recording with Bob Marley and the Wailers, Exodus, is widely considered one of the greatest albums of all time—in any genre. Since Marley’s death in 1981, Marvin has cut four records with the group, and toured with various iterations of the band’s lineup. Marvin fronts this current lineup, playing and singing the Bob Marley & The Wailers hits the way he believes Marley intended them to be heard. He’s joined by DJ Queen Majesty, an NYC reggae selector with her own hot sauce empire.

A Selena-themed outdoor concert in support of immigration rights, organizer, artist manager, and activist Doris Muñoz. Born of a series of benefit concerts she put together in Southern California in 2017 called Solidarity for Sanctuary, Muñoz’s dance parties raise funds to help immigrants navigate the bureaucratic minefield that is U.S. immigration policy to set them on the path to citizenship. This year’s party is headlined by Kali Uchis, a Colombian-American singer with a critically acclaimed debut LP (2018’s Isolation) and collaborations with Gorillaz, Juanes and Daniel Caesar. She’s supported by Cuco, an ascendant Chicano bedroom pop star who is set to drop his debut album with Interscope after a prolonged bidding war; Ambar Lucid, an 18-year-old Dominican and Mexican-American singer-songwriter from New Jersey who writes bilingual tunes and wield finger-picked guitars and spaced out electronics with equal aplomb; Principe Q, a DJ and producer who spins R&B, hip-hop, dancehall, kuduro, and dembow; and the Santuario House Band, led by music director Adrian Quesada.
