Performance | Ambient Piece: Phil Kline's Unsilent Night

This piece, made for roving boomboxes, is eighteen-years-old. Hundreds gather, hit play on a wide assortment of tapes handed out by Kline -- each containing one of six or seven different parts -- and march their way through the East Village. The result is gorgeous, sounds changing based on the position of the listener, the position of the boomboxes, which street corner you're on, and the batteries of portable devices running out. Bring your own ghetto blaster, or just join for the walk.
