Take 21st-century hyperreality and postmodernity to a new level by focusing more on vibes, positivity and open-mindedness and less on genres. They want people who love a challenge and great music to free themselves of all the restrictions placed on them by just being open-minded and ready for a good time with friendly people. All who are 21 and over are welcome.
The Cohen Brothers have been known to play wild mixes, and don't be surprised if Studebaker Hawk breaks out with an outerspace disco mix or Italo set. He held down gigs in Barcelona, Spain with the Plat Dujour crew before returning to the States to host the Macho City radio show on WMUA, and appear at events on the East Coast.
The other half of the Cohen Brothers, Len Bias, left his roots in Western Massachusetts to cut his teeth on the West Coast with the Achtung Radio crew. He's rocked parties around Europe and Japan, and dug for records on five continents and the North Pole, where he carried a shotgun to ward off polar bears trying to beat him to the "80 BPM penguin record". He's known to go deep into rare and forgotten disco, searching for that synthesizer sound that makes you fall in love. He's currently one of the four non-native residents on the island of Tanegashima, Japan, where the only things to do are surf and build space ships, damn that's balearic!
And Ericka Schiche, who most recently had a residency at New York City's legendary Botanica Bar, has been known to play everything from psychedelic funk to drum and bass. In addition to the Botanica gig, Ericka aka Eri has also DJ'd at Rubulad, Warsaw (for the Brooklyn Record Riot), Public Assembly (Shakey's Record Fair), and Savalas (Lost and Found night). One of her specialties is rare deep funk 45s - the rarest record in her crates being the San Francisco TKO's "Acid Lady", which is only owned by a few people in the world.
Enjoy. This is for the people! No dress code, and no cover!
