Festival | Kwanzaa 2018


Kwanzaa 2018 will feature performances of the amazing Oyo Oro Afro Cuban Experiemntal Dance Ensemble direct from Santiago de Cuba. It should be an exciting and entertaining afternoon for the 40th annual event, a celebration of African-American heritage that is rooted in seven principles known as Nguzo Saba, which promotes, unity, culture, and community development. Black Comics Collective hosts a live drawing performance inspired by the seven principles. The festival also features a local artisan marketplace and is hosted by Dr. Linda H. Humes, scholar and storyteller.

The free, family-friendly community event will include arts and crafts for children and the young at heart, spoken word, drumming, song.
