Join the master photographer and Lesley A. Martin, publisher of the Aperture Foundation’s book program, in conversation on the occasion of the recent release of Meyerowitz’s book. Entitled “The Urban Sublime,” this conversation will be followed by a book signing. Legacy is the result of a unique commission Meyerowitz received from the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to document and interpret the nearly nine thousand acres of parks within the five boroughs of New York City that still exist close to their original pristine state, as well as areas within parks that have been left to revert to wilderness. Meyerowitz is the first photographer to document New York City's parks since the 1930s, when they were photographed as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's WPA program.

Discussion | Bank Nationalization

Until recently, proposing bank nationalization was dismissed as quackery - at least when critiqued by the dominant neoliberal orthodoxy. However, as myriad financial crises have emerged and intersected, nationalization projects and government money are being used to hold together the neoliberal economy. No common ground appears staked out by social movements to propel us away from the stumbling status quo. Join Turbulence collective member Ben Trott for a discussion of something completely different.
