Festival | Celebrate America’s Independence Day


The National Park Service will mark the Fourth of July with a day of activities. The schedule (subject to change) is: 10 - 10:30AM Ranger-led talk "Causes of the Revolution" will take place in the Zenger Gallery 11-11:30AM - "Meet General Washington" a special program featuring a living historian portraying George Washington will take place in the Zenger Gallery. 11:30-Noon - Ranger Reading Hour, a program for children ages 4 to 12 will take place in the Basement Rotunda Noon -12:40PM - Reading of the Declaration of Independence on the front steps of Federal Hall. Members of the public will have the opportunity to participate. 1:00-1:30 - Ranger-led talk, "British, Loyalist, African American and Indian views on the Declaration," will take place in the Zenger Gallery. 1-1:30 - Ranger Reading Hour, a program for children ages 4 to 12 will take place in the Basement Rotunda 2-2:30 - "Meet General Washington" a special program featuring a living historian portraying George Washington will take place in the Zenger Gallery.
