The Latin Grammy-winning CHOC QUIB TOWN formed in 2000 with the intent to create a new fusion of Colombian Afro-Caribbean music and hip-hop from the perspective of the Afro-Caribbean people of the Chocó, a small department in Western Colombia. The band consists of husband and wife Carlos “Tostao” Valencia and Gloria “Goyo” Martínez and Gloria’s brother Miguel “Slow” Martínez, all originally from Chocó.
