Opera | The Met Opera: Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin

Anna Netrebko stars as Tatiana, the young woman whose impulsive declaration of love is coolly rejected by Mariusz Kwiecien’s Onegin—with unexpected consequences years later. Piotr Beczała is Lenski, the friend-turned-rival Onegin kills in a duel. Oksana Volkova (Olga), Elena Zaremba (Madame Larina), and Alexei Tanovitski (Prince Gremin) co-star, with Russian maestro Valery Gergiev conducting. Recording of 2013 production.

Dance Performance | Miami City Ballet performs Symphonic Dances

Alexei Ratmansky’s Symphonic Dances, set to Rachmaninoff’s arousing score of the same name, was made especially for Miami City Ballet. The plotless yet dramatic ballet is accentuated by bursts of exuberant dancing including a drama-filled, warrior invoking sequence and a scintillating ensemble, tantalize the senses in a spectacular show of inventive choreography.
