Park Walk | Governors Island is Now Open!


The park is now open daily for passive recreation activities from 10AM to 6PM on weekdays and 10AM to 7PM on weekends. Governors Island is a 172 acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, offering breathtaking never-before-seen views of the Statue of Liberty and NYC. The landmark is a transformation of Governors Island from an abandoned former military base to what is envisioned to be a year-round destination for recreation, culture and innovation. Park Walk | The High Line Park is Now Open!


The High Line Park welcomes its guests again with a free timed-entry reservation system to allow for social distancing. It is open from noon till 8 pm daily. The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central Railroad spur. The abandoned spur has been redesigned as a "living system" drawing from multiple disciplines which include landscape architecture, urban design, and ecology. Since opening in 2009, the High Line has become an icon of contemporary landscape architecture.
