Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Visit sites that offer free entertainment during the summer while shuffling through parts of the East Village and Greenwich Village. Walk south along the East River to the tip of Manhattan. Bring in shells, rocks, insects, arrowheads, feathers, fossils, bones, pottery, textiles, or any other natural or cultural object that has had you puzzled and perplexed for a thorough going-over by Museum scientists. Items identified on previous Identification Days include a dinosaur egg, a whale’s jawbone, a green beetle bracelet from Brazil, a sponge-bored conch shell, a 5,000-year-old stone spear point, and fake trilobite fossils from Morocco. Participating in this year’s Identification Day will be scientists and researchers from the departments of Anthropology, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Herpetology, Ichthyology, Ornithology, Invertebrate Zoology, and Paleontology.

Chana Rothman (pictured) uniquely fuses Lilith-esque singer/songwriter folk mentality with progressive worldbeat in two languages. Like an eclectic '07 Rickie Lee Jones/Joni Mitchell, her politics, her obvious bohemianism and her delicate vocal phrasing push her sound into a delicious mix that also incorporates reggae and hip-hop.
