Daryl Sherman has been a fixture for many years playing Cole Porter's Steinway at the Waldorf-Astoria and recently at the Algonquin Hotel Oak Room. She performs internationally at jazz venues, concert halls and her numerous recordings are in regular rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius XM Radio. A frequent guest on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz, she's a favorite at St Peter's Midday Jazz Series and has played an important role as artistic director for a Lyrics & Lyricists program at the 92nd Street Y.

Talk | Completing Hudson River Park


As part of the Freshkills Park Talks series, a lecture series related to the reclamation and development of Freshkills Park, Connie Fishman, President of the Hudson River Park Trust, will discuss the process, constraints and progress of developing Hudson River Park. Development on the park began in 1999. Hudson River Park, now nearing completion, has been designed in segments by a host of renowned landscape architects to address recreational and public space needs, habitat support and celebration of the City’s waterfront history and infrastructure. Spanning 550 acres, Hudson River Park is second in size only to Central Park within the borough of Manhattan.

Jazz | Marilyn Crispell & David Rothenberg perform from their CD One Dark Night I Left My Silent House


Pianist Marilyn Crispell and clarinetist David Rothenberg perform music from and discuss their new release with Ken Druker. On this album, the ever-adventurous Crispell is found in quietly exploratory improvised duets with Rothenberg. Rothenberg studied with Jimmy Giuffre and Joe Maneri, amongst others, and is active as a player-composer and is also well known as an author and naturalist. His books include Why Birds Sing and Thousand Mile Song (an investigation of the music of whales), and the song titles here reflect on the natural world.
