Tour | Monet's Giverny - A Home and Garden (online)

Claude Monet lived and painted in Giverny from 1883 to his death in 1926. He purchased a house and property and began a vast landscaping project which included lily ponds that would become the subjects of his best-known works. He began painting the water lilies in 1899, first in vertical views with a Japanese bridge as a central feature and later in the series of large-scale paintings that was to occupy him continuously for the next 20 years. Monet gained much of his inspiration from his gardens and believed it was important to surround himself with nature and paint outdoors.

Museums | Tiffany Glass and Other Exhibitions

The collection of Tiffany's leaded glass includes an extraordinary array of floral and geometric lamps as well as landscape and figural windows. A unique feature of the collection is a vast, one-of-a-kind archive of original flat glass and pressed-glass "jewels" used by Tiffany Studios, which provides valuable insight into the development of the stained-glass movement in America at the turn of the twentieth century. Established in 1972, this art museum's permanent collection consists of around 10,000 items, over 6,000 of which are documents and objects related to the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs, some of which are on long-term display.

Performance | Islands in the Sea: Performance Art

Artist Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya transforms the site that honors the grieving process. Nine sculptures serve as beacons of reflection, lighting a path forward from losses that so many of us have suffered in the last few years. With this installation, visitors engage in a ritual reminiscent of Loi Krathong, a celebrated Thai festival of gratitude, forgiveness, and respect. Participants are invited to release a floating vessel to carry away their burdens, worries, or grief gently into the pool. Each vessel reflects the sky as it drifts along the water, forming a flotilla of shared struggle. The installation serves as a gentle reminder that while grief never fully leaves us, we can temper sorrow by embracing the many forms that grief and healing may take.

Gallery Talk | Dress Rehearsal for a Dream Sequence: Exhibition Tour

An imaginative walkthrough of the exhibition, led by Heather Lynn Johnson, that avoids conventional methods of analysis and instead is based on free-floating associations, sparks of intuition, and poetic resonances. Johnson, herself an artist, poet and researcher, draws from her experience at various museum archives to attune it with the queer structures of support proposed by Anna Campbell. In response to the highly evocative sculptures by Campbell and following the histories signaled by the works’ rich references, Johnson envisions spaces of queer support and preservation beyond the normative institutional mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion.
