Kagero’s sound has been described as "cultural confusion" – a melting pot of tonalities and rhythms from Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Eastern Europe. Sometimes the songs are beautiful imagery, sometimes sad folk tales, and sometimes silly songs about drinking, but the tunes are always fun and a high-energy good time.

Talk | Getting Ready For the 1940 Census

When the 1940 census was released in April 2012, it didn't not have a name index. Such an index will not be available for perhaps up to six months after opening day. So finding people in the census will involve searching by location instead. This talk will be given by Stephen Morse, the creator of the One-Step Website. For his contribution through this site, he has received both the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award from IAJGS, the Award of Merit from the National Genealogical Society, the first ever Excellence Award from the Association of Professional Genealogists, and two awards that he cannot pronounce from Polish genealogical societies. In his other life Morse is a computer professional with a doctorate degree in electrical engineering. He has held various research, development, and teaching positions, authored numerous technical papers, and written four textbooks, and holds four patents.

Opening Reception | Painting: Michael Anthony Pegues' Prince Michael’s Neverland: The Measure of an Artist

Michael Anthony Pegues, a fixture of the downtown art scene and true NY icon has finally found a home to present his vision. His constant quest for recognition, almost an obsession, has led him to constantly produce artworks where his image takes center stage. Prince Michael’s Neverland: The Measure of an Artist is the culmination of Michael Anthony’s life-long dedication to his art. The show highlights the struggle, passion, and rise of a man fully aware of his unique aesthetic. Citing Jean-Michel Basquiat not as an influence but rather as an equal, his work displays child-like innocence visually coinciding with complex subject matter.
