Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. This class will cover concepts fundamental to all programming languages and provide an introduction to coding more generally. Tour | Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House Tour


An in-depth look at the unique architecture and exquisite beauty of the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House. Designed by famed architect Cass Gilbert and completed in 1907, the Custom House is a National Historic Landmark. The building’s interior splendor includes an elliptical rotunda with a 140-ton dome skylight designed by Valencia-born engineer Raphael Gustavino and murals by New York painter Reginald Marsh, as well as monumental marble arches and columns. Opening Reception | 2 Art Shows: Chalda Maloff / Micaela de Vivero


Chalda Maloff's new artworks explore the transient nature of existence via intimate portraits of imagined lifeforms. Each such conjectured creature is fragile and vulnerable. It resides in an uncertain universe, as do we all. Its delicate membranes and exquisite body parts are at times almost absorbed into the environment, casings vanishing as densely layered detail gives way to inscrutable miasma or arbitrary splatter. And yet, expressively rendered in exaggerated scale, each lifeform faces the viewer undeterred. It is fully present in time and space. Micaela de Vivero uses installation art to talk about relationships between the viewer and the art, between structure and movement, and between space and circulation. Lines, volumes and colors have become de Vivero's tools to create communication between the art and its environment.

A group exhibition of photographers who engage and expand the practice of contemporary German photography. The exhibition considers how photographic production in Germany has evolved, expanding past its identifications with the Becher school, Minimalism, and Conceptual Art. While photographers continue to employ these aesthetics and formal tropes – seriality and the index, for example – the turn towards performance, humor, process, and an integration of multiple media is producing invigorating works that challenge the conventional associations of “German Photography.”

Discussion | Radical Dance Artists in the 60s and the 80s


To mark the opening of the exhibition Radical Bodies: Anna Halprin, Simone Forti and Yvonne Rainer in California and New York, 1955–1972, Yvonne Rainer and Lucy Sexton come discuss their careers in dance. In the 1960s, Rainer was a leader in the dance avant-garde through the rule-breaking collaborative, Judson Dance Theater. In the 1980s, DANCENOISE, Lucy Sexton’s performance art duo with Anne Iobst, rocked the New York club scene with transgressive, socially conscious acts of precisely aimed mayhem. With the help of performance clips, archival display, and mutual curiosity, Rainer and Sexton will question each other about how their separate generations transformed the New York dance scene.
