Collectio Musicorum performs works by 15C European composers. Guillaume Dufay (1397-1474) was an innovative composer whose works changed the face of European music in the 15th century. Collectio will perform a number of his works, both sacred and secular including love songs and hymns, laments and prayers. Gilles de Binche (1400-1460) was a Netherlandish composer, one of the earliest members of the Burgundian school and one of the three most famous composers of the early 15th century. Pierre Fontaine (1380-1450) was a French composer of the transitional era between the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance, and a member of the Burgundian School of composers. While he was well-known at the time, most of his music has probably been lost. All of his surviving music is secular, and all his compositions are chansons. Music Director of Collectio Musicorum Jeff Dailey is an active instrumentalist, musicologist, conductor, and stage director. His publications include studies of medieval and Renaissance music and theatre, Eugene O’Neill, Beowulf, Donizetti, and Gilbert and Sullivan. He has been president of the Greater New York Chapter of the American Musicological Society since 2008.
