Scott Wannberg, one of the anchors of the contemporary American poetry scene, passed away August 19 at his home in Oregon. As a poet, Wannberg was prolific, freeform and Beat-influenced. He was a founding member of the Carma Bums, a nomadic LA-based poetry collective that cruised to readings in a 1957 Cadillac and toured extensively in the 80s and 90s. His influence resonates today, with two extensive poetry collections published on Viggo Mortenson's Perceval Press, including Tomorrow Is Another Song, which will be released on September 30.
