Mitch Brenner and Melanie Daniels meet in a San Francisco pet shop when Melanie decides to follow Mitch home. She brings two love birds as a gift, and a romance starts up. At Mitch's sister's birthday, though, the birds start attacking children, and soon, the whole town is being attacked by birds.
