Concert | The Tres Amigos: The Spicy Special

Careening back and forth between three-part harmony-singing and bursts of instrumental improvisation, The Tres Amigos deliver earnest, often comic originals and innovative takes on a range of classics, all tightly arranged to suit the group’s unique mix of alto sax, accordion, acoustic guitar, and hollerin' voices. White Lightning, Woody Guthrie, slow Delta blues, fast Brazilian choros, Night and Day, and Good Night Irene all find their way into the Amigos’ exuberant repertoire and feel like they belong there. The Tres Amigos are North Carolina ex-pats Justin Poindexter (guitar) and Eddie Ray Barbash (washboard and sax), and San Francisco native Sam Reider (accordion). Members of the Amigos have appeared on the main stage at Jazzfest in New Orleans, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
