Occupy Wall Street Ten Year Anniversary Photography Show 2011 was a banner year for protest movements around the world, spurred by the subprime housing crisis in 2007, which led to the Great Recession of 2008. January protests in the Middle East ushered in the Arab Spring. In April, anti-Union legislation in Wisconsin galvanized the American Labor movement. And a call for protest by AdBusters magazine ushered in almost 75 days of direct action in Lower Manhattan with offshoots around the entire country, and thus was born the Occupy Wall Street movement. Zuccotti Park was popularly renamed Liberty Plaza and protesters occupied it to set up a base of operations to protest the avarice of Wall Street... In 2011, a young man with a camera and a passion for activism James Foehrenbach would stop by Liberty Plaza to participate and take pictures. His passion led him to pursue a career in photography. Ten years later, Foehrenbach has assembled a group of artists to share photographs and art from Occupy Wall Street and the related events. Proof of full vaccination required.
