Play | Yours Unfaithfully: 'un-romantic comedy' (virtual, streaming for 24 hours)

An "un-romantic comedy" about the price of free love, Yours Unfaithfully is an insightful, intelligent and exceptionally intimate peek behind the closed doors of an open marriage. Stephen and Anne, blissfully happy for eight years, are committed to living up to their ideals. When Stephen, a writer who isn't writing, begins to sink into a funk of unproductive moodiness, Anne encourages him to seek out a fresh spark. Can their marriage survive uncompromising generosity, sacrifice and love? More than the story of an unconventional couple, the play is about what happens when our ideals clash with our emotions. Written by Miles Malleson Directed by Jonathan Bank The event is streaming until May 16th.

Park Walk | Foraging Tour: Oyster Mushrooms, Herbs and Greens, Root Vegetables and More (in-person)

This park is one of the best places for early spring foraging, with a wide selection of wild herbs, greens, roots, and even some cold-weather mushrooms. Habitats include miles of mature forest, as well as the trail edges, and the disturbed, overgrown, and cultivated habitats that provide homes for all sorts of diverse species. Burdock, a root vegetable prized in East Asia and served in Japanese restaurants, grows in view near the meeting spot. Cultivated as gobo in Japan, it provides a savory root vegetable, good for a wide range of recipes, from soups to Vegan Beef Jerky. Further into the park you'll find sweet cicely, which tastes like black licorice. Herbs and greens you'll be looking for include honewort or wild chervil, which tastes like parsley, celery, and carrots; sassafras, the original source of root beer; black birch, which tastes like wintergreen, garlic mustard, with garlicky leaves and horseradish-flavored roots; corn-flavored chickweed, and onion/garlic-flavored field garlic leaves and bulbs. The tour will last for about 4 hours. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing.

Theater | JM Synge's The Aran Islands: 'a hypnotic performance' by One of Ireland's Finest Actors (virtual)

In the grey, sea-battered landscape of the Aran Islands, full of mist and wild rain, hearth is home and storytellers regale with tales by the fire. When John Millington Synge traveled to these remote islands upon the advice of WB Yeats in 1898, he discovered a bleakly primitive, mystical land that would inspire him for the rest of his life, leading to canonical works in Irish theatre, including The Playboy of the Western World and Riders to the Sea. The Aran Islands is a haunting and visceral experience built around "a hypnotic performance" by Brendan Conroy, one of Ireland's finest actors, as he captures the spirit of Synge in Joe O'Bryne's theatrical adaptation of Synge's early work, "The Aran Islands." This play has been reimagined for digital presentation, transporting audiences to a distant world.
