Park Walk | Foraging Tour: Sechuan Pepper, Ginkgo Trees, Black Nuts, American Persimmon and More (in-person)

A great abundance of edible and medicinal wild plants and mushrooms makes this park a great place for foraging in the fall: burdock, an expensive detoxifying herb sold in health food stores; the root of sassafras, which tastes like root beer, makes a great tea, as well as root beer; chickweed, which tastes like corn; Sechuan pepper; the American persimmon, with a sweet fruit that gets better as it gets uglier! The ginkgo trees will be at their peak; health food stores sell extracts of this relic from the days of the dinosaurs to improve circulation and aid memory. Pear-shaped puffballs, blewits, brick tops, enokis, oyster mushrooms, and tree ear mushrooms could pop up anywhere. The tour will last for about 4 hours. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing.

“Alienation?” - a group exhibition of 8 Chinese contemporary artists currently residing in New York. Whereas direct references to social phenomena tend to rise and fade quickly, it is the ideas and rules we extrapolate and derive from these events that actually guide mankind towards the future. “Alienation?” invites its audience to inquire beneath what lies on the surface, whether it’s a pandemic or social justice movements, to investigate the relationship between individuals and what they have created.
