Reading | Readings for a Indigenous, Queer and Feminist Future


Following a recent trip to Mexico to connect with his paternal roots and learn traditional tallow candle-making techniques, Jorge Gonzalez sets up a candle-making site as an altar on the fence of venue. In collaboration with artist Monica Rodriguez and others, Gonzalez leads a reading and listening session that proclaims an Indigenous, queer, and feminist future with a focus on the writings of Puerto Rican anarchist and feminist writer Luisa Capetillo. Tour | Explore The Seaport Museum’s Landmark Buildings (virtual)


This virtual visit offers the opportunity to see and learn the history of Schermerhorn Row, one of the most significant examples of early 19th century commercial architecture in New York, and home of the South Street Seaport Museum. Visit the upper floors of these New York City Landmarks, located within the National Register-listed South Street Seaport Historic District. Hear about the buildings’ incredible history and developments, and explore the remains of two 150-year-old hotels made famous by New Yorker writer Joseph Mitchell’s “Up in the Old Hotel.”

Concert | String Quartet and Guests: Cutting-Edge Repertoire (virtual)


Ethel is one of the most acclaimed string quartets in the contemporary classical field with an eye on tradition and an ear to the future. Expect familiar classical tunes mixed with a fair share of the group's signature cutting-edge repertoire. Guest artists and collaborators also make periodic appearances. Ethel is Ralph Farris (viola), Kip Jones (violin), Dorothy Lawson (cello), and Corin Lee (violin). The concert takes place every Friday at 5 pm.

Two of Ireland's finest actors, Dearbhla Molloy (The Royal Shakespeare Company; London's West End) and Dermot Crowley (HBO's Hunted; The Death of Stalin), take audiences on a virtual stroll through London's National Gallery, discovering afresh the Museum's masterpieces from Van Gogh and Van Eyck, to Rubens and Gainsborough. With humor and grace, Crowley and Molloy breathe fresh life into each painting's subjects with poetic stories from renowned Irish poet Paul Durcan.
