In recent decades, left/anarchist political theory has presented Benedict Spinoza, known in his time more as a maverick materialist and atheist, as a theorist of democratic constituent power. In his talk, Artemy Magun argues that Spinoza-inspired interpretation of democracy suffers from some problems, such as the homogeneous and unitary notion of polity and the unclear status of political subject.
