Museums | Artist Collective Takes Over of a Museum (In Person AND Online!)

In conjunction with the museum exhibition, is this thing on?, there will be an all-day, hybrid in-person and livestreamed interactive event with eponymous artists, taking place throughout the museum’s ground floor and online. The artists will be at the museum for a takeover of its first floor.  The livestreaming collective “is this thing on?” emerged in 2021, bringing together the artist supergroup Christopher Clary, Sarah Rothberg, Bhavik Singh, and Molly Soda. Their series has been hosted exclusively online through thing.tube, their artist-run, interactive platform. This museum presents THING+YOU, which introduces hybridization to the project, blending real-time online interactives with in-person encounters for the first time. THING+YOU showcases how artists can reclaim agency in digital spaces while fostering genuine community engagement across platforms. Through this unique hybrid format, the collective extends these principles into tangible space, challenging the boundaries between online and in-person experiences.

Play | New, Original Musical Comedy Satirizing Work Culture

When an overworked and undervalued employee turns down a request for a post-mortem, a chain reaction of epic proportions is set in motion, much to her chagrin. Face to Face is 90 minutes of absurdist musical comedy that satirizes work, commitment, and the burning desire to skip that meeting. Play | Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well in the Park

"This is the way Shakespeare wrote his plays to be seen." -The Huffington Post Get swept up in one of Shakespeare's boldest romantic comedies with New York Classical Theatre! Written around 1604, All's Well That Ends Well is one of Shakespeare's boldest romantic comedies. When Helena--a brilliant, determined young woman--heals a king, she earns the right to choose her husband. But love isn't so simple, and she must use wit, courage, and a daring plan to win the life she desires. Full of humor, heart, and twists, this rarely performed gem is a story of love on Helena's terms. New York Classical Theatre's signature style, Panoramic Theatre, turns public spaces into the world of the play. Instead of sitting in one place, the audience moves with the actors from scene to scene, following the action as it unfolds. This immersive approach creates a dynamic, interactive experience where every performance is shaped by its surroundings.

Play | Shakespeare's Henry V in the Park

Henry V follows the young and newly crowned King Henry V of England as he seeks to prove himself a strong and legitimate ruler. The play begins with Henry's claim to the French throne, based on ancestral ties, which the French reject. Insulted by the French Dauphin's mocking gift of tennis balls, Henry launches a military campaign against France. The central action is the Battle of Agincourt, where Henry, despite being outnumbered and exhausted, delivers the famous "St. Crispin's Day" speech to inspire his troops. The theater supplies 100 chairs nightly for the audience. Those chairs get snatched up fast though, especially at the end of the run or on beautiful summer days, so organizers advise that audience members wanting to use these folding chairs arrive 30 minutes before the start of the performance. You may bring your own chair or something soft to sit on. The theater almost never cancel due to rain, but if necessary, it will post updates on Facebook & Instagram.
