Astronomy Night features interesting educational experiences for the whole family, including talks from astronauts, engineers, and scientists, and activities & demos led by museum educators. At this event, hear from scientists and engineers from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory working on NASA's groundbreaking Parker Solar Probe! This spacecraft is revolutionizing our understanding of heliophysics through its mission to “touch the Sun" by gradually orbiting closer to the Sun’s surface than any before it. At its closest approach, the spacecraft will fly just 4 million miles above the Sun's surface, facing brutal heat and radiation to provide humanity with unprecedented observations to expand our knowledge of the origin and evolution of solar wind. The night's also includes: Learning About Spacecraft, Life in a Vacuum Demonstration, Telescope Viewing, and more! Livestreaming of the featured presentation will be available on Facebook and Youtube.
