In this popular participatory program, Handel's most celebrated work - the "Hallelujah Chorus" (from his oratorio Messiah) - is brought out of the concert hall and onto the city streets of NYC in a series of 4-minute pop-up performances from seven iconic outdoor midtown Manhattan locations. Singers can walk the entire route with the core ensemble or join the group at any spot that is most convenient, surprising bystanders with seemingly spontaneous outbursts of the famous choral piece in the process.
Lcations and estimated performance start times (travel time is worked into the schedule):
6:00 PM, New York Public Library (Fifth Avenue and West 42nd Street)
6:15 PM, One Vanderbilt (1 Vanderbilt Ave)
6:30 PM, Rockefeller Center (45 Rockefeller Plaza)
6:45 PM, Times Square (199 West 45th Street)

Any singer who knows their part to the chorus is welcomed and encouraged to participate simply by showing up to their preferred location by the start time, but if you know you will be participating please send an email with the subject line "Mobile Hallelujah" to mmnymobilehallelujah@gmail.com that includes your name, the location you will sing from, your vocal part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) and your vaccination status
