In Little Italy, where the streets are plagued by lower echelon Mafiosos, unbakanced punks, and petty criminals, a small-time hood gets in deep water with a vicious loan shark. In an effort to free himself from the dangers of the debt, he seeks out help from a friend who is also involved in criminal activities.

Martin Scorsese is an American film director who emerged as one of the major figures of the New Hollywood era. He is the recipient of many major accolades, including an Academy Award, three Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, and three Golden Globe Awards. Five of his films have been inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."

Robert De Niro is an American actor known for his collaborations with Martin Scorsese. he is considered to be one of the best actors of his generation. De Niro earned two Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather Part II (1974) and the other for Best Actor portraying Jake LaMotta in Scorsese's drama Raging Bull (1980). His other Oscar-nominated roles were for Taxi Driver (1976), The Deer Hunter (1978), Awakenings (1990), Cape Fear (1991), and Silver Linings Playbook (2012).

Harvey Keitel is an American actor known for his portrayal of morally ambiguous and "tough guy" characters. He rose to prominence during the New Hollywood movement, and has held a long-running association with director Martin Scorsese, starring in six of his films: Who's That Knocking at My Door (1967), Mean Streets (1973), Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974), Taxi Driver (1976), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), and The Irishman (2019). Keitel received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Mickey Cohen in Bugsy (1991).
