Staged Reading | Reykjavik, a Play by Richard Rhodes, Pulitzer and National Book Award Winner

Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Free

When Ronald Reagan met Mikhail Gorbachev in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1986, the leaders of the two major powers had a singular opportunity to negotiate the elimination of nuclear weapons. Richard Rhodes takes on this moment in history in his new play, to be read by the theater company Break A Leg Productions.

Rhodes is the author or editor of 22 books including The Making of the Atomic Bomb, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, a National Book Award, and a National Book Critics Circle Award, and, most recently, Arsenals of Folly: The Making of the Nuclear Arms Race.
